First Lutheran Church

Pastor Kristine Stedje | ELCA
As we continue our ministry to the Sioux City community we celebrate 150 years of service. Shining light into the future we welcome you to join us for worship, in-person, via Facebook live, radio broadcast or you-tube later in the week.

Mission
As we begin our 151st year, the congregation continues to gather as faithful people to worship, learn and serve.
Those who are inquiring about what it means to be a child of God, a Lutheran, a seeker of the gospel are invited to participate in conversations designed for anyone interested in what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. You may have been baptized, confirmed and served for many years in a church, or you may be inquiring what it means to be a Lutheran, curious what a member of a congregation does or does not do. All of these questions are relevant and appropriate. What do you seek? This is a great question all of us must answer as we gather to worship, learn and serve.
Contact Pastor Kristine (flcpastor3939@gmail.com) to inquire about joining a conversation on what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.
Holy Family Food Pantry
Our Food Pantry is open for drive distribution on Wednesdays from 9 am – 11:30 am.
Volunteers will greet guests in the narthex on the north side of the church building.
Plan to provide your contact information before receiving a bag of groceries twice a month or every other week.
The Food Pantry Volunteer schedule can be found here.

God's Work.
Our Hands.
First Lutheran participates in the annual God’s Work. Our Hands. focus for ministry within our church and community.
Thank you to all who participated in this year’s efforts on September 11th. We gathered for a meal following worship before learning about service opportunities this fall. Due to your work the garage was thoroughly cleaned, cans and bottles were recycled, pews were washed, closets were cleaned and organized, offices and kitchens were decluttered and more! Thank you for putting your hands to good use!
